Job Description
- Collaborate with other technical teams to design, implement, and optimize effective solutions.
- Apply and uphold industry best practices in daily engineering tasks.
- Proactively identify areas for architectural and procedural improvement, driving necessary changes.
- Monitor, report, and address risks related to your responsibilities as part of your role.
As part of your duties, you will:
- Supervise and lead a team of SIEM specialists, particularly in transitioning from an existing SIEM platform and managing related data.
- Establish, document, and enforce detailed operational procedures.
- Maintain and exemplify high standards in engineering practices, including thorough documentation.
- Cultivate a sense of urgency within the team for addressing and resolving critical issues.
- Utilize expertise in data handling, storage systems, alert mechanisms, and search methodologies to validate and direct team outputs effectively.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years in an engineering leadership role or managing teams.
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and maintaining ETL workflows, data repositories, or Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
- Proficiency in several of the following technologies:
Messaging and event systems: Amazon SNS/SQS, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Hubs, Apache Kafka.
Log and event forwarding: Windows Event Forwarder, Syslog, Cribl.
- Analytics and modeling tools: Splunk (including data modeling), Data Lake platforms like Data Bricks.
- Preferably, a background in leading teams responsible for service management tasks.
- Knowledge or experience within the Cybersecurity domain is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in technology or a related discipline.
- Certifications in data management, engineering, or cybersecurity are an added advantage.
