Job Description
1. Responsible for materials purchasing, project material cost estimation, integration and coordination of project procurement performances, and dealing with project management and client.
2. Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
• Material cost estimation for projects and proposals
• Negotiation with new and existing supply chain partners
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support improvements in supplier quality, total cost efficiency, and lead times.
• Strategic management and selection of the supplier base
• Supplier sourcing and processing Purchase Orders for project materials, supply contract as Pre-order commitment (POC) for long lead items, capital equipment items and a frame agreements for bulk materials
• Monitor and control procurement costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
• Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
• Prepare reports and updates as and when required
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Project based procurement experience ideally gained with the Oil and Gas industry or Petrochemical industry is preferred.
• Experienced in Procurement of electrical/instrument materials such as switchgear, transformers, cables, lightings, etc.
• Proficient use of Microsoft office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Extensive experience of leading or executing project procurement elements is required.
• Experience of working closely with suppliers.
• Knowledge of electrical/instrument materials such as switchgear, transformers, cables, lightings, etc.
• Knowledge of the Procurement processes and capabilities, management process and Supply Chain Processes
• Knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
• Knowledge of Procurement tools (e.g. SAP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfillment
• Must understand the products/technical drawings.
• Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Flexibility in dealing with and resolving unexpected work changes to meet plan and schedule deadlines.
