Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and enhance supplier quality systems and manufacturing processes, ensuring timely tracking and reporting on metrics such as defect rates (PPM), quality notifications (QN), 8D response time, and supplier inspection results.
• Design and implement action plans to improve supplier performance, which may include audits, on-site evaluations, performance monitoring, and scoring systems.
• Conduct supplier assessments to validate compliance with quality expectations, leveraging methodologies like APQP or other factory-level practices recognized by the Company.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Procurement to establish process controls that align with both product and operational requirements.
• Support product introduction phases by verifying that supplier outputs comply with quality standards during ramp-up.
• Lead investigations into supplier-related issues, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective/preventive measures, ensuring ongoing compliance and follow-through.
• Act as the primary contact for supplier-side manufacturing quality matters, managing and closing out all outstanding issues and corrective action items.
• Help suppliers improve internal processes, evaluate current systems, and provide guidance on control enhancements when necessary.
• Communicate the Company’s standards and expectations clearly to suppliers.
• Recommend relevant training programs for suppliers to strengthen their quality capabilities.
• Track daily performance and critical metrics to assess supplier effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
• Work closely with internal departments such as Quality, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project Management; coordinate activities with other SQEs for projects involving multiple vendors.
