Job Description
As the Senior Manager of Product Engineering, you will be the driving force behind the brand’s technical innovation and excellence. In this pivotal role, you’ll shape, lead, and execute world-class engineering strategies, processes, and initiatives that align with the brand’s long-term business goals. This position goes beyond departmental management—it’s about collaborating with global leaders to create technically superior products that set new industry standards for quality, delivery, margin performance, and sustainability. You’ll leverage your technical expertise to guide teams, champion innovation, and bring the brand’s creative vision to life season after season.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Engineering Excellence: Oversee and implement all product engineering and material development initiatives to ensure products meet both brand expectations and consumer needs. Guarantee manufacturability at target margins while upholding stringent quality standards.
Drive Innovation & Optimization: Promote a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. Advance engineering best practices to ensure efficient T1 approvals, optimized processes, and on-time production readiness.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with Global Development, Design, Merchandising, and Asia-based teams to execute strategies that strengthen product capabilities and support business objectives. Lead continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team. Foster an inclusive and growth-oriented culture, establish strong succession planning, and develop cross-brand technical competencies.
Technical Expertise & Oversight: Serve as the key technical authority—providing expert guidance, validating solutions, and implementing corrective actions to ensure the highest standards of product performance and quality.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years in the footwear industry, specializing in Development, Commercialization, Production, or Quality Assurance.
At least 10 years of proven leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
Comprehensive understanding of material applications, product construction methods, and seasonal development timelines.

Exceptional team-building, project management, and organizational capabilities.
Effective communicator and natural problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to think strategically and lead effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking global environment.
In-depth technical expertise in materials, lasts, molds, compound development, and foot anatomy.
Proficient in industry-standard tools, Microsoft Office applications, and PLM systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
